DOLLGIFT In Store

Hello! As promised, I'm back with more information on the store I've consigned my crafts with. If you are here in Singapore or planning to visit this little island on your next vacation, please drop by Raffles City Shopping Centre (Cityhall train station or 252 North Bridge Road). Store location would be at #B1-77/78, Anthropology. You can visit their website here for more information.

If you haven't already heard of this store, there is every reason for you to come by. At Anthropology, you will be sure to find something you like. From furniture to fashion accessories and lifestyle products, Anthropology is a house full of surprises. Oh and did I mention that they've won the Singapore Tourism Award 2008 for Best Shopping Experience, Specialty Store? :)







I will be happier if I can set up the display myself :( Just trying out a few items for a start. So please come by to show me your support and there will be more, more and MORE great stuffs. :D

Phew! Glad the stress is over, at least for a while. For the past one week or more, I had been so tied up with my consignment preparation. Dollgift has finally made it to a local store at Raffles City. Yay! :D Stay tuned, as I will update you with more information when the pics are ready.

On a different note, I will be away on a short vacation to Shanghai, China next Tue (24 Mar) and back on Friday (27 Mar). Don't miss me too much. I promise to come back with plenty of nice pics to share with you. :)

A Little Girl's Love

Some years ago, I received this forwarded email and had kept it in my folder. I've read it many times and it never fail to touch me each time. The story reminds us to treasure everyone/ everything around us, for we never know what is going to happen tomorrow. Enjoy the story and have a great Sunday :)

''Some time ago a man punished his 5-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of expensive gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became even more upset when the child pasted the gold paper so as to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy." The father was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty.

He spoke to her in a harsh manner, "Don't you know, young lady, when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside the package?" The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty. I blew kisses into it until it was full." The father was crushed. He fell on his knees and put his arms around his little girl, and he begged her to forgive him for his unnecessary anger.

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later and it is told that the father kept that gold box by his bed for all the years of his life. And whenever he was discouraged or faced difficult problems he would open the box and take out an imaginary kiss and remembered the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us as human beings have been given a golden box filled with unconditional love and kisses from our loved ones. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.''

Too Good Not To Share (II)

And the topic continues from my earlier post, Too Good Not To Share (I)....

Much as I hate to admit, I have been procrastinating to write this post for the longest time. It kills me just to decide which artists to choose out of the list of talents from my Etsy favorites and which of their works to feature.

I have an obsession for dark/mysterious/surreal art since my teenage years. Something I couldn't quite comprehend. From what I know, people who love this kind of art usually have a very 'different' fashion sense. More Sarah Brightman perhaps? (Oh by the way, I LOVE her music). I don't know but that kind of dressing is just not me. Or rather, I am plain lazy to even bother about what to wear. Okay, that's beside the point.

After much agony, following are the pieces I've selected. The first artist is artandghosts. This name itself has already tell us what to expect. And in slightly more than two years, Louise has made over 2300 sales in Etsy! One word, envy.
