Go With The Flow~ ^^

Helllooooo… I'm back on the scene again! Apology for my disappearance.. I was a little sidetracked for quite a while.

In the past 4 months, I've changed 3 part time jobs! That's like nearly 1 per month? Did I just set a record? I used to cringe at the idea of having to start all over again in a new environment, but now I'm actually enjoying it; new friends, new things to learn, new experiences!

No doubt the same question has been thrown to me countless times as to why I resist a full time job so much. And I know many people think I'm being 'unrealistic' or 'immature'. I think that's being judgemental. Most people are comfortable with a stable job but are they REALLY happy with what they're doing for a living? I'll leave the answer to them. Call me stubborn, 'weird', or be secretly jealous of me all you want because I'll still not trade in my freedom for a meaningless better-paid job.

Yes, I admit sometimes I do get stressed up when I have trouble making ends meet (most of the time it's because clients do not pay on time -.- but that's beside the point). In my years of learning, I've come to understand that stress actually come from our feeling of fear. We get stressed when we feel overwhelmed. As I learn to let go of the need to be in control of every circumstances, I become more at peace with myself.. and with life. When we stop resisting change, life can be so much more enjoyable! What I'll always remind myself if thing doesn't work out the way I like, is to slow down, make some adjustment if I need to. Alternatively, it may be my Angels' way of telling me they have something better in store for me. I just need to have some faith and a little patience. :)

----------------

A few days ago, I received an email from one of my customers. This wonderful lady from Israel bought several pieces of my works on my online store and returned to purchase more shortly after. She told me how much she loves my works and wanted to frame them all and put up on her wall. When I saw these lovely photos in her email, I was close to tears. I had never imagined someone would love my works so much to want to showcase them in her house. This was her message to me,

''Hi Rheea! It took a while but... here are some pictures of my living room wall with your gorgeous illustrations. Everyone here loves it and i L-O-V-E it! You can be proud of your self, you are very talented! I am very picky about pictures hanging on my walls, but the minute i saw your works, i knew exactly - this is what i want!''

Perhaps sometimes all we need is just a little assurance about what we've fought so hard for... Thank you, Aviya. :’)

Love, Pinkie!

I am featured by Love, Pinkie! :) Click HERE to read my full story!

Side note: 'Love, Pinkie' is a book which tells the story of Pinkie, a young girl confronted by the daily bombardments of internal struggles prevalent in our fast-paced, perennially wired, 21st century society. It is about life, self-worth, technology, materialism, beauty, friends, family, singlehood, BGR, sex, abortion, religion and dream. Sounds interesting already? Then you ought to check out the author of this book, Christina Siew, from SINGAPORE! By the way she is only 27 this year!! I am going make her share her inspiring story with us soon...

Dollgift -- Babies In Tees!

Dollgift is proud to announce its collaboration with Babies In Tees (BITs)! These adorable tees will be out for sale very very soon.... Stay tuned for more details! ;)

''The concept of Babies In Tees (BITs) expresses fun and cheekiness to accentuate the individual characteristics of your little ones, capturing fond memories of their entrancing years. BIT uses unbleached organic cotton, which not only creates a stronger yarn and preserves natural color, but most importantly it is uncomprisingly safe and soft to your baby's delicate skin.'' -Babies In Tees (Made in Singapore).

MIA Updates

My apology for missing in action for so long. Life has been pretty hectic since my SSEAYP training started last month. Long hours of training, 4 days a week which leave me only 3 other days to catch up with work and some rest.

Currently I'm also working with a stationary company in Japan (Tokyo and Osaka), on their winter series. I was thrilled when they contacted me to work with them. Another surprise came when I saw their company's name - Winged Wheel. The first thought that came to mind was, 'Angel's' Wings???!! :DD

See their logo? ♥

Not only do I love their name, I adore their style as well! Simple, chic and classic.. that's what they are. Furthermore, their paper products are made from 100% cotton fiber paper, also known as the world's finest quality paper. And you know what? Winged Wheel was established in 1918....that's almost a CENTURY ago!!! WOW! I'm so hoping I'll get to see my designs selling in Tokyo when I visit Japan this October. Hee hee. My Angels must have been watching over me. :)

Drooling over their vibrant colored envelopes... Love the black/fusion pink one especially! :)

For more information on Winged Wheel and what other fabulous stuffs they have, check out their website or their blog.

Moving on... I'd promised updates with photos of my training sessions so there you go! The Singapore contingent! :) There are 29 of us, including our national leader.

Our first residential training session.... Checking into our 'jungle' lodge.

Now you know why it's call the jungle lodge. Couldn't complain much about the room.. it's clean and nice BUT for a light sleeper like me, sleeping in a room with 6 other people was a real challenge. Needlessly to say, I only managed to get one hour of rest that night. =___=

My roommates (with one missing that day).

Forget about the contact lens, I'm going to look unglam for the rest of the training sessions. lol

I feel like I'm back to school again.

Briefing by past years' participants. (I swear I wasn't sleeping okay.)

Someone was spying me!

Discussion.........

Choosing fabric for our uniforms.

Dinner time!

Firecrackers time! hahaa. This was fun. We were transported back into our childhood days. Thank you, Sherry for bringing these firecrackers for us. :)

Flag raising ceremony the following morning before we proceed for sports and games.

First casualty of the day. Lol.

That's all I have for you today. If I have to upload all the photos, I'm sure it'll take me at least another 2 days to do so. Apart from the deprivation of rest, I have so much to be thankful for; everyone is easy to get along with, we take care of one another and most importantly, we're having lots of fun together. :)

I'll be back for more updates! Meanwhile, take care everyone~ ♥ ♥ ♥

My Works At Esplanade Shop

As I've mentioned, you may now find my works at another store and it is inside this HUGE 'durian' of Singapore. Yummy~

(Esplanade, also known as the 'big durian' is a performing arts venue for local and international performances).

Esplanade Shop is located at, 8 Raffles Avenue #02-02, Singapore 033801.

Their management is pretty strict with the 'no photo-taking within the shop' rule so I wasn't able to snap photos on some of the coolest stuffs they carry. Apparently you can find a wide variety of merchandise in this shop. From postcards, music cds, books, apparels, fashion accessories to their signature commemorative coins of the Esplanade. If you're here on a holiday, be sure to drop by and bring back some unique souvenirs with you!

How can you not get a lovely note card to go with that special gift? ;) My prints are also available here.

Also, when you visit the Esplanade from now till July, don't forget to say hello to these erm........... interesting looking guys. These ethereal figures are the creation of Pakistani sculptor, Khalil Chishtee. See how he transformed the plain-looking plastic rubbish bags we use in our daily lives into these inspiring work of art.

My favorite! Isn't he the coolest?

I can't help but wonder whose these belong to.................... Lol.

Could it be hers???? Oh my, someone pls help her down!!!!!

You may even find these adorable comic doodles along the stretch of wall at the underground leading to the CityLink Mall. Anyone is welcome to 'vandalise' them!

The chinese phrase, '天天向上' means to be keen in learning and progress everyday.

Hahaha. This is so cute!
