This Is Not The Life I Ordered

Did the title catch your attention? It did to me. Which is why I've read the book, love it, and thought I should share it with everyone.

''This is not the life I ordered (50 ways to keep your head above water when life keeps dragging you down)'' is written by four ordinary women, sharing with us their extraordinary life challenges. Together they have a history of six marriages, ten children, two miscarriages, failed adoption and widowhood. They have built companies and lost companies. One of them was even shot and left for dead on a tarmac in South America!

If you do not like books filled with words, you got to like this. With comics and a great deal of inspiring quotes on every few pages, you'll not have any trouble following through. I think this book is a must-read for all women and the men who love them. So, I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars! Below are some of the quotes from this book. Visit their official website, for more juicy bits!

''Find out what you don't want to know about yourself, what you're afraid of, and then face it head on.'' -Linda Evans.

''Dreams usually don't come about in the way you first visualize them, so don't expect them to. Be open to new opportunities and ideas. Reality is too complicated, and surprise is half the fun!'' -Dr Ivan Scheier.

''When you get the blues - don't look forward; look backward. Looking backward reminds you many dreams have actually come true in your life, while looking forward only reminds you of the obstacles you face.'' -Dr Ivan Scheier.

''If you have made serious mistakes, there is always another chance for you. What we call failure is not the falling down, but the staying down.'' -Mary Pickford.

And this is my favorite, ''Well-behaved women rarely make history.'' -Anita Borg.

''THANK YOU''!!

A Big “THANK YOU” to everyone who participated in the poll! I was hoping to make my life easier by getting some opinions but in the end, most people suggested different names! Take a look at some of the names mentioned in my Etsy forum and tell me what to do.. I'm spoiled for choice! Haha. A few lovely Etsians even offered their daughters' names. I'm honoured. :)

There were two new names that caught my attention though; 'Nina & Nono' and 'Esme & Nono'. I think 'Nina & Nono' sounds better when put together but 'Esme' actually has a more suitable meaning. Nina = Mother. Esme = Esteemed; loved. Help!!

Thank you once again. I hope you guys had some fun or at least you'd have more ideas what name(s) to give your daughter(s) in future. ;)

On a different note, I found this funny video on Youtube last night. There was this DJ from a local radio station who prank called people in the service industry (randomly) to test their service quality. I'm not trying to be mean or disgrace Singapore by posting this but really, it's too funny not to share! lol. Have a fabulous weekend~

PS: Not ALL Singaporean talked like this 'Aunty'. I do admire her courage and good service though.

Best Name For My Little Girl?

Help!!! I need you guys to help me think of a name that best suits my little girl. I don't mean my daughter. It's the little girl in my drawings that needs a name.

When I first created this character, I thought she should be named, 'Rheea'. However after spending more time with her, I realised this name doesn't suit her well enough. Her characters may represent some part of me but not ALL of me. I want a name that can adorn her imaginative, fun-loving and full-of-dreams character. Since Nono is her best companion, the pair will sound something like, '_______ and the little hot dog' or '_________ and Nono'. Cute enough?

Here are some drawings to help kick-start your brain.

Now pls get to work; help me fill in the blank. Below are the few names I have in mind. If you have something else for me, feel free to comment. Thank you! :D

Love Story

Latest favorite in my Mp3! The lyrics are so sweet.. It's even sweeter when you watch the music video. I wonder if that's what happen when you meet your soul mate; just by one look and you'd know he/ she is the one? Has it happen to any of you? If you think you've found your soul mate, I would love to hear your story!

We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes
And the flashback starts
I'm standing there
On a balcony in summer air

See the lights
See the party, the ball gowns
I see you make your way through the crowd
And say hello, little did I know

That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you please don't go, and I said

Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes

So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes
Escape this town for a little while

'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
But you were everything to me
I was begging you please don't go and I said

Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes

Romeo save me, they try to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story baby just say yes
Oh oh

I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you is fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said

Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring

And said, marry me Juliet
You'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a love story baby just say yes

Oh, oh, oh, oh
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you

Angels Art (I)

Angels are usually view as messengers. Guardian Angels are assigned to each one of us since we were born, to protect and guide us. Unbeknownst to many people, Angels are everywhere, all around us, watching over us.

Here are some beautiful Digital Artworks of Angels I found on the web to share with you.

Titled: ''Angel'' by Lian-blackdream
Green is never my color but this particular piece changed my mind. If you like Fantasy Art or Portrait paintings, you got to check out this site. ''White Skirt'' is also one of my favorites.

Titled: ''Gabriel--resting'' by Real4fantasy.
This is beautiful beyond words.. the color and the lighting is amazing. I feel like diving into the sea right now!

Titled: ''Angel of Ice'' by Irulana.
One of the sexiest Angels I've ever seen. Love the little details of her clothing and hair accessories.

Titled: ''Chorus'' and ''Citrine Chysanthemum'' by Nene Thomas. Again, if Fanstasy Art is your cup of tea (or coffee), this is another site you wouldn't want to miss. Be sure to catch some lovely Fairies on the site too!

Titled: ''Fantasy'' by Takaki
These are so dreamy... How can you not fall in love with Angels after looking at these magnificent art pieces.

Titled: ''Guardian Angel'' by Vvola.
Darkly beautiful.. I love her gothic style. ''Black Widow'' is another of my favorites.

Titled: ''There's an Angel on The Way'' by Creedd.
How cool is this, an Angel with a cigarette in his hand! Ladies, are you going to faint if a gorgeous Angel like this appears right in front of you? I'll sure need an oxygen mask.

I'll be sharing with you Angels in Fine Arts in my Angels Art (II) so, stay tuned! Have an Angelic weekend~ :)

A Joke A Day Keeps The Doctor Away‏

This is hilarious... lol.

A lady walked into a high class jewellery shop. She browsed around , spotted a beautiful bracelet and walked over to inspect it. As she bent over to look at it more closely she accidentally farted. Very embarrassed, she looked around nervously to see if anyone had noticed her little accident and prayed that a sales person didn't pop up right now.

As she turned around, her worst nightmare materialized in the form of a salesman standing right behind her...Cool as a cucumber and displaying complete professionalism, the salesman greeted the lady, "Good day, Madam. How may we help you today?"

Uncomfortably, but hoping that the salesman might just not have been there at the time of her 'little' accident, she asked, "What is price of his lovely bracelet?"

The salesman answered, " Madam, if you farted just by looking at it, you're going to shit when I tell you the price."
